Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Eidetic(“we”, “us”, “our”) collects and uses information when you visit meeteidetic.comor use the Eidetic application for macOS (together, the “Service”). Eidetic is an independent product built and operated by a solo developer, and is designed to be private by design: your meeting content stays on the Mac you control. The short version

• Your meetings never become our data. Audio, transcripts, notes, editable summaries, and meeting chat are recorded, processed, and stored locally on your Mac. We do not receive or store this content.
• AI transcription and summarisation run on-device. No meeting audio or transcript is uploaded for processing.
• We use only privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics — no tracking cookies, no cross-site tracking, and no advertising.
• We only process the minimal data needed to sell and license the app and to answer your emails (see below).

Meeting content (stays on your device)

Recordings, transcripts, notes, summaries, previous versions, and meeting chat are stored in a local library on your Mac. This content is not transmitted to us and we have no access to it. Deleting it in the app removes it from your device.

Information we do process

• Website hosting & logs. Our hosting/CDN provider (Cloudflare) processes standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and requested pages to serve the site securely.
• Website analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic (page views, referrers, and performance). It is cookieless, sets no identifiers on your device, and does not track you across other websites or build a profile of you.
• Purchases & billing. Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the Merchant of Record (the seller) for your purchase. When you buy a license, Lemon Squeezy collects and processes your payment and billing details under its own privacy policy. We receive order and license information (such as your email and country) but not your full card details.
• License activation. To activate and validate your license, the app exchanges your license key and minimal activation metadata with our licensing provider.
• Downloads & updates.The app is distributed via GitHub Releases; downloading or updating is subject to GitHub’s processing of request data.
• Support & email. If you email us, we process your email address and the contents of your message to reply and provide support.

Why we process this data (legal bases)

Where the EU/UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

• Performance of a contract — to sell the app, deliver license keys, and provide the Service you purchased.
• Legitimate interests — to keep the site secure and prevent fraud or abuse.
• Legal obligation — to meet tax, accounting, and other legal requirements (largely handled by Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record).

Sharing & processors

We do not sell your personal data. We rely on a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf: Cloudflare (hosting/CDN), Lemon Squeezy (payments / Merchant of Record), and GitHub (software distribution). Some of these providers operate outside your country (including the United States); where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Retention

Order and license records are kept as long as needed to provide the Service and to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your request. Meeting content is retained by you, on your device, for as long as you choose.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@esperastudio.com. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you of material changes.
